Here is my page for Once Upon A.....Sketch

Finally i am finished my page that i have been working on for a week or so now for the Once Upon A.... Sketch June challenge. I had alot of fun and made alot of mess with this one. The theme this month is BIRTHDAYS. Now birthdays are something we celebrate every year and i always go out of my way to make birthdays a big deal around here so narrowing it done to that big special one was hard! So instead i went with a day that changed my life forever the birth day of my eldest. This was both a happy and scary day and i am glad that everything worked out in the end. From the moment she came into this world she has filled it with so much joy! Everyday she astounds me! So here is my page i managed to sew, distress, ink, glimmermist, use embossing powder, use alcohol ink, layer, use a punch, stamp and i even used my Cricut. I managed to create a pocket behind my photo where i hid my journaling and boy did i journal as you will see in my photo. I wanted to document this special day as best i could. So here is my page....

My hidden journaling

Here is the sketch i used...

So that is it for me thanks for looking and thanks OUAS for another great sketch and challenge! i really had fun and loved the chance to tell the story of the birth of my daughter!

Back to reality!

So the weekend is over and it is back to reality i guess! I had such a wonderful weekend with scrapping most of Saturday and then family day on Sunday! We enjoyed a day at Seaforth beach. Although a fair drive from where we live it is a place from my childhood which i love to visit. We took a few photos  had a play and then we combed the beach for shells. We enjoy a good shell hunt and are always in pursuit of the "shell of a lifetime". It was sad to call it a day but as it got later in the arv and with the big drive home we def had to call it a day! Just want to share some photos that i love, all with the exception of my crazy hair which up until this year has always been chopped and hairsprayed back.

So i also wanted to share the page i did using sketch # 73 over at Sketchabilities. I actually finished this on Saturday night. It came together quite quickly and i had alot of fun inking my paper and spraying with water to give it all an aged look. Probably the only thing i would change is the title and the choice of letter stickers i used. I have never been the best at coming up with titles but for some reason i had that song in my head, "LOVE IS... WHAT YOU WANT IT TO BE..." and it stuck. The paper i used was from  the Kaisercraft Timeless range and i did those lovely little stamped flowers again.

Here is Sketch # 73 that i used.

Okay so that is it from me for now, TFL and until next time keep scrapping!

Hello all!

Hello fellow bloggers! Hope you are all having a great start to our weekends! Today i am on strike! I am having a scrap day. How is it all working out?  I am enjoying it so far and in between getting up to do washing and a bit of a tidy as my hurricanes whirl around my house i am having one of those days where i am reflecting on my life. I can honestly say where i stand right now i have no regrets, every situation i have been through has helped make me who i am.  The people i have had in my life and those who are still in it have taught me many a valuable lessons about who i want to be and who i want in my life. I just wish i knew this a little bit earlier than 30. These feelings have helped me to create my page because i also decided to do a bit of reflecting on creating too. Mostly about what i have done and liked doing and what i wanted to try. The new things i have learnt and wanted to try is how to make the tape flowers on my page thanks to Mr Tim Holtz. I really enjoyed doing them and love the way they turned out! I also melted some scattered embossing powder on my page which was fun cause i have a heap that i seldom use. Some old techniques i taught once and thought i would give it a whirl again because i enjoyed doing was stamping some flowers and butterflies onto my page, cutting them out and giving them a slight scrunch and a sand before adding them to my page. Lastly something i have had in my stash, one of those impulse buys, and never used was my Smooch inks. I used them to paint around the details in the butterflies and give the flowers a little coat. i managed to combine two challenges together, another first for me! I only did this because both challenges used the word "Change". I am putting this in the Bird is the Word challenge and also over at 123 for their challenge. The 123 challenge also requires the colour blue and the technique is to use Washi Tape. So here is my page which has taken me 6 hours to create, that includes the moments where i would just sit and stare blankly at my page wondering what the heck i was going to do next, lol. I remembered once reading something that Gandhi said about change and googled his quotes. I had a few conflicting phrases as to the actual wording so i chose the one that was said the most often. I hope you like it! I am off to scrap some more as i have a few more challenges i want to get done so i maybe back to share more today!

Be the CHANGE you wish to see in the world

Sketchabilities sketch # 72

Okay i am cutting this one a little fine today! I had every intention of starting this one a hell of alot earlier but i some how got side tracked along the way! So with only a few hours left and battling a headache as big as China i managed to scrap this page! I cut all my pieces up (and yes all are scraps yay for me! 8 years of scrapping there are piles and piles of scraps) and then doodled like a 2 year old given a pen and a white wall, lol. I really had no idea how it would turn out but i do kind of like the simplicity of it. I loved scrapping these photos of Amber because she does love her collection of stuffed animals, and this photo shows her pure joy at loving her fluffy rabbit. So enough said as my brain is a little scrambled right now and i may precede to ramble if i do not stop...see? So the sketch i worked with was sketch #72 over at Sketchabilities. I love their sketches but do not always have time to do them or i simply forget that i printed them out.

So here is my take on the sketch....

Thanks for dropping by i am off to try and rest! Until next time keep scrapping! XOXO

I let the page just go and came up with this of my youngest and her Nutella love. The page originally started with just the idea to rip my page and add flowers. Thanks for the challenge! So here is this weeks palette which is due on June 15th. I love what Lydell has done here.

My page....

Sharing overload!!

Good morning everyone i just wanted to pop on today to share a few things i have done over the past few days but first i wanted to mention that i was chosen as one of the May winners, along with 12 other ladies, out of 124 entries for my entry over at Once Upon A...Sketch. I am so happy and i thank the talented Nadia Cannizzo for choosing my page and her lovely words about my page. To check it all out and to see the other winning entries pop over here. So now onto business. I wanted to share my page that i finished last night for the Kaisercraft Saturday Sketch #1. I used the range from the Tigerlilly Collection. This is probably my favourite range at the moment because it is girly but also a little funky. I scrapped my eldest when she was only a month old. 8 years on and i still don't get tired of scrapping her baby photos. So here is the sketch...

Here is my interpretation of the sketch...

I also wanted to share a page that i did for Case File #22 over at CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration. I quite enjoyed this one because i never scrap with these colours together and i am glad i managed to complete it. I like to keep all the cases as reference for later so i can use the colour combos again and again so keep your eyes open for another page using these in the near future! Here is the case..

This is what i created with it, i wanted to create a page of my youngest showing just how beautiful she is both inside and out.

The evidence i managed to use was ribbon, corrugation (the photo matt), wet medium, a border punch (which i sadly broke doing this page), yarn (which i saturated in Glimmermist because it was a different colour)  and for my testimony i started my journalling with Once upon a time. I journalled on a tag, which is tucked behind my photo, which i cut out using my Cricut. So we come to my last share for this post. My cousin and his partner had a beautiful little girl the other day so i created a frame and card for them. What do you give someone who has everything? I love making handmade gifts for people. So here is what i made, something quick and easy but effective. This time i made sure i got a photo too, probs not the best photo but a photo none the less and taken in a mad rush before i walked out the door.

Okay so if you have made it this far thanks for dropping by. I am now off to do housework so i can scrap guilt free tonight. I do not know why it takes so long to do housework and only a second to make a mess!! Anyway until next time keep scrapping, i know i will. xoxox

Lets Get Sketchy Challenge!

Good morning fellow bloggers! For those of you in Australia i hope you are enjoying your day off! For those of you else where i hope your day is a creative one. This morning i managed to sit and create a page using the sketch over at Lets Get Sketchy. I honestly did not think i would finish it but i did! It is a page of my brother and his future wifey! He had only got back from his tour of Afghanistan the week before so i was super excited to see him. With him serving in the Army and living in another town i of course do not get to see him as often as i would like so i enjoyed the time i got to spend with him and of course i managed to get some photos. Here is the page i created this morning, it has got some stitching, some paint and a whole lot of flowers!

The sketch i used....

Thanks for dropping by i am off to enjoy the rest of my day! I hope you get some creating done and until next time Blessed Be!

Just a quick share!

Hi everyone hope you have all been getting some time to create. I just wanted to pop on today and share a page i did for CSI: Color,Stories, Inspiration. This is a great site that gets you to scrapbook using specific requirements to create your page. If you are curious pop on over here and give it a go. I solved case # 21 and had so much fun doing so.

The green is actually a piece of fabric that i ripped and scrunched onto my page and i gave it a splash o' paint. I had a ball getting messy and scrapping the photo of my eldest talking to her sister in my belly. I love that i have managed to take so many of these type of photos so my girls can look back when they are older and read about what they did when they were little.

I also have a little news.....I won over at Creative Scrappers with my page of my Dad. I had alot of fun on the weekend doing these sketches and to win was a shock because there were so many awesome pages! Anyway thanks for looking i am off to spend a little one on one with my darling daughter!

Creative Scrappers Sunshine Crop

Good morning fellow scrappers! I have a few pages to share with you today as i scrapped the night away. Creative Scrappers had a a weekend crop going on and invited those who could not be there to join them in an online challenge where they provided a few sketches for us to complete. I did have fun completing these and with the exception of the background all papers used was from my scraps. The first page was using this sketch..

I decided to scrap a photo of my youngest and I. This year is the last year my baby gets to spend with me before she goes off to school. She is definitely ready for school but it is hard for me to get my head around it. The time has just flown by so quickly! I have loved spending every second of everyday with her. We have so much fun together! So here is my page using October Afternoon, Making Memories, Scenic Route and Basic Grey.

The next page was one i created using this sketch..

I decided to do a page of my Dad. I am so lucky to have my Dad and although i don't get to see him very often we talk nearly every week on the phone. I am so much like my Dad in many ways personality wise and creative wise. My whole life my father was always drawing, painting and making stuff from wood. He even dabbles in a bit of sewing with him helping me sew my daughters curtains. I am so glad i have a Dad like mine!! Anyway here is my page using paper from Basic Grey, Graphic 45 and Making Memories.

The other page i managed to complete was using the palette from over at The Color Room. When i saw it i was a bit unsure of what i would scrap but when i saw the photo of my eldest i just knew! My eldest is always doing sweet things out of the blue and is always ready to help out. I was taking her photo when she just started making a heart out of her hands. So here is my page using palette # 113.

Thanks for dropping by! Until next time keep scrapping!

SOME NEWS!

Good morning all i hope you had a great week and get to scrap this weekend! My scraproom is now beautifully cleaned and in some way sorted, it took me a long time as i sorted scraps out and went through every piece of paper and embellishments etc that i had and i rediscovered some that i forgot i had. I even reclaimed some of those brads that fell into the carpet during the week, lol. Anyway i wanted to share with you some news that i have been wanting to share for a few weeks but have not been allowed to. I made it onto the White With 1 creative team!!! I am so super excited to be a part of this team as i love doing their challenges so thanks Mel for giving me the opportunity to be a part of the team along with the other super talented ladies. So if you haven't checked them out pop over here and maybe even give the June challenge a go! This months challenge is WHITE + PALE BLUE + FLAGS. I had sooooo much fun with this one and chose to scrap my eldest when she was little.

Anyway thanks for stopping by i am now off to get my scrap on and mess up my room, lol.
