Challenge # 48 for Punky Scraps

I have been working on this one for a few days, yes i do start pages before i even finish another it keeps me on my toes. Seriously though i don't always do it just sometimes if i feel i need to add more to a page but i don't know what, i just put it to the side and start another project and from time to time i look at it and add something, before i know it i have finished a few pages. Anyway i did a page using a challenge over at Punky Scraps. It was to use some or all of the items in a list to create a page.
I managed five out of the seven. For the list pop over and check it out here. I did a page of me, something i don't do very well or often but i thought i would give it a go. It is a page that is meant to represent about finding out who i am, what i want and just trying to be a better version of myself without caring about what others say or think. This is my life and nobody else's i am only human i make mistakes but at least i can admit it. In the end i am doing the best i can! So here is my page, I used orange a colour i am not an immense fan of but it worked well i think!!!

Anyway until next time thanks for looking and keep scrapping!!

Kaisercraft Sketch #1

I found some time in between getting the kids lunch and them playing the Wii to quickly get another page done using one of the sketches over at Kaisercraft. Although a quick page i had so much fun with the sewing around each layer and getting my ink out. I used mostly Kaisercraft products except a couple of Green Tara flowers. To colour the chipboard i used my H2O's.  So here is my page.....

I used this sketch...

Hope you are enjoying your Sunday. Don't know what i will do next but until next time keep scrapping!

Kaisercraft Sketch #4

Good morning fellow bloggers! Unfortunately we have made it to Sunday and that means the weekend is almost over :(  I thoroughly love my weekends because it is where my family and i get to spend time together. Sure we see each other during the week but during the week it is different, my partner leaves way too early in the mornings and doesn't come home til it is just as dark in the sky and there is school for my eldest so for now during the day it is just my youngest and i. But on the weekends we can see each other from the moment we wake, enjoy breakfast together, watch movies together, basically anything we want together and enjoy our dinner together.  Making time for family time is very important to me! But once everyone is safe and sounds in their beds with a kiss and a hug and a lullaby and a story and a heap of stalling, lol, i get to scrap and think about things. Last night i had to wear my ugg boots and a jumper because it is starting to get quite chilly here. I managed to do a few things but one thing i did was to finish a page using the Kaisercraft sketch #4. I had such fun rummaging through my bits and pieces gathering up my Kaisercraft,i think i may have to devise a different system as some stuff is missing in action. I used my cricut to cut out the leaves, using the Storybook cartridge. I love these leaves and have been using them quite frequently. Of course my page would not be complete without some ink and some paint and a little distressing and i even managed to finally use my Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Dusty Concord that i bought off EBay 6 months ago, lol. Anyway so breakfast is ready so i must finish up for now. Here is the sketch i went by...

And this is what i came up with....
(Please excuse the morning light)

Until our paths meet again keep scrapping! Blessed Be!

The Color Room - Palette # 108

Well the reveal went up on the 27th for the new palette over at the Color Room and fortunately i was able to start it straight away. It is a very girly palette and i loved working with it. I chose a page of me breastfeeding my youngest. What can i say breastfeeding it is not everyones cup of tea but it is my cup of tea. It is one of those things that i feel strongly about and i feel like the most luckiest person in the world because i have been able to experience this . I and those i know who breastfeed have copped so much flak in the past. This makes me angry!!! Please explain why were we given breasts and milk if not but to feed our child? My children thrived on the breastmilk i provided. I actually smiled the other day when i saw a lady openly breastfeeding while she was waiting to see the Doctor. It has been a long time since i saw someone openly breastfeed i almost wanted to go and give her a high five, lol. Anyway enough ranting about that i just wanted to share a quick little step by step of how my page actually started.

I started with a Prima piece of paper -"Astor" from the Meadow Lark Collection

Using "Lettuce" ink from Adirondack i pressed the pad into the lid and then used my water pen

I began to apply the ink just like water colours- this was fun and time consuming

I then added the rest of my embellies and finished my page titled "A Perfect Moment"

Thanks for looking and until next time keep scrapping!!

Punky Scraps Challenge 47

I managed to get some scrapping done last night. I am really happy that i have been able to stay up and scrap as i haven't been able to do it for a while, it must be a sign i am getting better fingers crossed! I enjoy doing the late night scrapping thing as there is a kind of peace in the air at night, i have always been a night owl! I created my page using mostly stuff from a kit i purchased at Scrapbooking Premiere and it was using the sketch over at Punky Scraps. I decided to do it about my youngest darling. She truly is a unique little girl and i love her to bits. Everything she does and says leaves me gobsmacked. I could have listed a million things about her in my hidden journaling behind the photo but narrowed it down to a couple. Journaling reads "Oh Amber you truly amaze me! At 4 you can write your own name, recognise and write most of the alphabet, you have a special charm with most people you meet and often become the centre of attention, you have the most angelic voice and it amazes me how you hold a tune so well but mostly your beauty baffles me with your big chocolate eyes and gorgeous curly hair!!" So here is the sketch i used......

And this is what I a came up with..........

Thanks for looking and enjoy the rest of your day/evening!!

White With 1 April challenge

Another post from me today! I have been working on this page over a few days and had a little time to finish it this afternoon as my little darlings are playing outside. It has been very odd weather today, slightly cold and the feel that it is going to rain. Absolute perfect scrapping weather for me and it kind of matches the colours on my page. So the challenge this month was White + Grey + Tabs/Tags. I scrapped a picture of my daughter on her eighth birthday, she is such a great kid and makes me so proud to be her mum. I think any mother would agree that it is hard to see your little babies grow up but well worth it. For this page i decided to make my own rose flowers and had such a great time doing it. It seems to be such a craze right now with everyone making their own embellies. I even fussy cut the branch out of some very old Making Memories wedding paper. it seemed like such a fantastic idea until i started. I cut most of it out with scissors and used a craft knife for the really hard places. I managed to squeeze some tags next to the top right corner of the photo and stamped the date. So without further adieu here is my page.

Thanks for looking! Until next time keep scrapping!

The Color Room - Palette # 107

This weeks Colour Room palette, to me, has a romantique feel to it. I decided to scrap some photos of my partner and i taken on Christmas Day 2011. I even worked with the sketch. I managed to Glimmermist, sew (both hand and machine), used Tim Holtz alcohol inks, Tim Holtz crackle paint and did some layering. Overall i love how the page turned out and i managed to do it all in one night. So here is my first ever page done using the Colour Room Palette and Sketch....

I wanted it to reflect on spending time with loved ones and showing them how much they mean. Just to go back where it all began because ultimately our lives would not be the way they are and our children would not be here if we never connected at the start. We all need a little love and passion in our lives!!!
Thanks for looking and until next time Blessed Be!

Anzac Day 2012

Today i would like to share something that we celebrated today that is dear to my heart, Anzac Day! Today is the ninety-seventh anniversary of those Sailors, Soldiers, Airmen and Nursing Sisters of Australia and New Zealand who fought for our freedom. I come from a long line of soldiers with my great grandfather and grandfather once serving, and my father and brother who are both currently serving in the Armed Forces. I am immensely proud of those gone and those still here with us today. My Great Grandfather and Grandfather served in some of the most fierce and intense warfare and my father has served two tours and my brother has only just recently returned from Afghanistan. Please note in no way do i say this to brag but to pay respect to them and because they put their lives on the line. Everyday they spent away my family and i prayed for their safe arrival home and fortunately for us they did, as many have not. So today we went to two services to pay our respects. One which was for my daughters school which saw us up early to attend and then one a couple of hours later where the extended Wills clan proudly marched through the streets of Calen. I know my Grandfather was extremely proud to see his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren march down the main street. So i would like to share a few photos from today. It was a long and eventful day with us only getting home later this afternoon. Lest We Forget!

Prima BAP April Challenge!!

Another post for today and i am extremely happy with how it has turned out, it might just be one of my favourites for this year! I started with a blank  Prima paintables and then i used my Twinkling H2O's. I have had these for a while and have not used them in a very long time so i pulled them out of retirement! I also wanted to create a whimsical, girly, blingy kinda page and these H2O's have a wonderful shimmer to them. I have named this page my Prima All Sorts page as i have a few different pattern papers and embellies from a variety of ranges. To make them all tie in with each other i gave them all a coat of H2O. I even used my cricut again to cut out the frame tucked under the photo. I used the cartridge storybook, this is my second favourite because of its whimsical feel. I even did my share of recycling as i added some of the packaging onto my page. Lastly the photo of my daughter shows a small glimpse into her cheeky side. I love this photo of my eldest she truly is a beautiful girl if i do say so myself. I will just quickly share the sketch i had to go by........

Once Upon A .....Sketch Challenge

I have had so much going on this week, but just a quick brag first ;), it was worth it with my daughter taking out third in her school cross country and receiving some very awesome school results. It definately makes me feel good as a parent to know how talented my little darling is!! On another note I finally finished my first ever page for the challenge over at Once Upon A...Sketch.  I had such fun with this!! I managed to use Glimmermist, Alcohol Inks, doodling and even pulled out my Cricut to cut the swirl and i even managed to sew on my page as well. The challenge this month was to use their sketch as well use the theme HOME. I thought long and hard and so many thoughts popped into my head. One was the obvious my small little family. We are not one of the lucky ones who own our home and so we move around alot but so long as my family is with me, where i live will always be home. But then it got me thinking about what else is considered home and i automatically thought of my Hometown  of Mackay. This place will always be my home and i have seen so many changes come and go but it is where i was born and bred and most of my extended family live here as well. I love to move around but whenever i come back here it is like a big warm fuzzy!! So here is what i came up with.......

Thanks for dropping by and until next time keep scrapping. Blessed Be!!

Today has been a full on day with all the norm stuff as well as some more baking because everybody eats what i bake all day long and when i need it for lunches there is none left, so today on the agenda were some mini quiches and a banana cake. Other than that i am still meticulously working away at some pages trying to get them right so they do not go into the pile of unfinished projects i have. Not to mention i have been trying to get  my page for my Guest Designer spot over at Child's Play Challenges for May finished. You should take a look over there as their challenges definately get the creativity juices going. I also am happy to announce i won a challenge over at 123 Challenge and also over at Kraft It Up, which was an awesome feeling. So i would like to thank them for picking my page!! Sometime this week i will also drag myself into town to pick up my monthly kit from Sandra. Her kits are so full of awesome goodies each and every month and she provides a wonderful shopping experience. I am so fortunate to have found her when i moved but i guess a true scrapper will track down supplies any which way lol!

Lets Get Sketchy Challenge

Good morning i think i just managed to scrape in with this one with a few minutes up my sleeve. I have been feeling a little under the weather lately so i haven't done very much of anything unfortunately. Here is the sketch for over at Lets get Sketchy.

Here is my interpretation of it. I really wanted to do my daughters Easter photos so i printed them first and had to make them fit so i flipped the sketch and went from there. I surprised myself i think. I also used a different colour background and everything, (i mostly scrap with white and Kraft lately which means i have a pile of other cardstock doing nothing at all).

Anyway thanks for looking until next time keep scrapping!!

Good Morning!!

Good morning fellow bloggers i hope we are all having a wonderful start to the weekend. I plan to do a little scrapping this weekend and a little baking getting ready for school recommencing this week. I would like to share two pages today which i have been working on, both challenges. The first is a challenge for over at Creative Scrappers using a sketch. I used mostly the Hummingbird Range from Kaisercraft. To me this range has an Asian style feel so i decided to add the chop sticks instead of doing the banner. I have had these chop sticks for awhile just waiting for the right page. Over all i am quite happy with the page. So here is the sketch.....

This is what i came up with............

The other page i would like to share is for one over at Child's Play Challenges. It was to use the board game Candyland as inspiration. Now i have never played this game so i went for the colour scheme and using the game squares. I spent alot of time on this page believe it or not and it is a little simpler than what i would normally do but over all i like it and my girls think it is great. So here is what i came up with.

Well that is it for me, so until next time keep scrapping and Blessed Be!

Challenge Me Happy Challenge!

Good morning fellow bloggers i hope you all had a wonderful sleep! I did an all nighter last night scrapping away. I did a page to enter into the Challenge Me Happy challenge. The challenge was an easy one with just simply creating a page exclusively for them and doing any page you want. I pulled out my Cricut and gave it a great blow as it has been in retirement for awhile. I cut out random butterfly's using the cartridge Serenade. I think this is one of my favourites as it has branches, trees, flowers, clouds, butterfly's and swirls. After cutting i Glimmermisted them with Dragonfly and then scrunched them a little. I used bubble wrap and paint for the base and then preceded to stick the butterfly's randomly over the page. I used this photo of my daughter when she was little and have had it for a while. The original was off centre so i had to zoom in and crop. Isn't it great modern technology, as this was taken with film i didn't think i would ever be able to crop it. Finally i added alot of Prima flowers and some Prima canvas birds sprayed with my favourite glimmermist Coffee Shop. Over all i think this is strongly becoming one of my favourite pages for the year! So her is my page, i am now off to do my chores, i have a lovely big basket of ironing with my name on it and the folding from our weekend away(getting sand out of clothes was a little hard) and then hopefully i will be able to scrap this afternoon. Until next time keep scrapping and Blessed Be!

It is all over for another year!!

Hope everyone had a very fabulous Easter and the Easter Bunny was kind. I had a rather memorable Easter myself!! The girls had such a wonderful time camping and of course getting rather feral!! They enjoyed the beach, the late nights and playing with their cousins and of course waking to the goodies that the Easter Bunny left them. I unfortunately didn't get time to scrap but today i made a little time for myself and i would also like to share a page that i did not get around to uploading before Easter. Both are challenges. The first one is for Scrap the Girls. I did this before Easter and am quite happy how it turned out. I absolutely adore these photos of my youngest she was a gorgeous chubby bubby if i do say so myself. So here is the sketch we had to use......

So Precious
I had alot of fun with this because it wasn't my normal 12x12 but a 8.5x11. I misted a little and stitched around the outside. I pretty much stayed true to the sketch except i moved the title over because it didn't work the other way. Anyway the other layout i want to share is using another sketch over at Creative Scrappers. It is for Sketch # 202. This is what i did today. I still am not sure if i like it and i fiddled around with it quite alot so the sketch was..

And i came up with this of my youngest daughter again. I flipped  the sketch on it's side and I cut a window out and put vellum there to create a window and i used Kaisercraft and Prima mostly. I have had this Kaiser range and photo sitting together for a while i just haven't found the time to scrap it but now it is done. Here is what i came up with..

Until next time Blessed Be! I am now off to cook my roast and hopefully get to scrap some more tonight.

Challenge for BIRD IS THE WORD

I think i am just scraping in with this with a few days left to go! I managed to finish the page thank goodness all i had to do was journal and come up with a title.Hmm that was hard because i had to incorporate the word "CHARM' into either the title or the journaling. I chose to put it into my journaling. I also used a mixture of Kaisercraft and Prima with a splash o' paint. So without further adieu here is my page.....

So Happy!!!!

Just a little quick post to mention how excited i am that i am going to be a guest designer over at Child's Play Challenges for May,for my Playdough page and i was also listed in the Top 5 over at Scrap for Help, as well as a fav over at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge. I am just rapped the news definately made my day. :)

Lets Get Sketchy Challenge

Wow April already!! Such a significant moment as i launch into my 30's. No longer can i say i am in my 20's. So i have been busy lately. We spent the weekend away and then i celebrated my birthday with lunch out and a very magnificent homemade dinner. My daughters were so lovely in helping make dinner, such sweeties. Planning our Easter away as well has been hectic so much to do and so little time. However i did manage to squeeze in a page. I used the sketch from Lets Get Sketchy. The sketch was

I struggled a little but i think it all came together in the end. I used a colour scheme i would not generally use and instead of using butterflies i used a few Prima canvas shapes. I also gave my flowers a slap of paint, always gotta have paint and a little distressing for me. I love these photos of my daughter she is such a beautiful girl both inside and out. Anyway i am off to hopefully do some more scrapping hopefully. Until next time Blessed Be and keep scrapping. This is what i came up with..
