Creative Scrappers Sketch #209

Good Afternoon everyone i hope you are all having a wonderful day! It is raining here so once again we are cooped up in the house plodding along finding stuff to do! I thought i would finish the page i started the other day using the sketch from over at Creative Scrappers while my sweet little darling draws beside me. I decided to flip it around to accommodate the photos i wanted to use because i thought it would look weird with my daughters head in a pile of flowers. I started out with my photos and then preceded to look in my pile of papers that i have collected throughout the years and found the piece of Paper Inklings paper that i cut my circle from. I added machine stitching to the circle and the photos and just went with that messy look, a proper sewer would probably cringe at the dodgy stitching but i love it! Then i decided to add orange, that ghastly colour but i have been using it an awful lot over the past month that i guess it has grown on me. So here is my page.......

This is the sketch i used....

Okay so thanks for looking i am now off to do something i have been putting off for a few weeks! It is the only untidy part of my house. Can you guess?  That is right my scraproom lol. I am not scrapping at all until my room is in order. I am even thinking of having another cull but we will see. So i will see you when it is clean hopefully by tommorrow ready for the weekend! Thanks for dropping by and keep scrapping!

Prima - May's Build a Page

Good morning everyone! I stayed up quite late last night finishing my page and by the end of it the page had all morphed into one so i called it quits. Plus the weather is terrible i find my fingers are going numb from the cold. No matter how wrapped up i am or how many nice warm cuppas i have the cold is still finding a way to cut through to my bones. I had such fun creating this page though and really enjoyed doing the fussy cutting of the birds and frame, and what is a page without a little Glimmermist! I loved the effect of all the black on what started out with pastels. I find it very hard to work with pastels. I think this has just become my favourite page for the year so far. Anyway the sketch that i based my page on was another Prima sketch. I am slowly adapting to use sketches but i always find a way to alter it to what i like. So here is the sketch for this month.

This is what i came up..........

Ok so i am off now to finish a few other pages i have on the go. Thanks for looking and until next time keep scrapping!

CSI Challenge!

Ok i am back again. I decided to do the challenge over at CSI:Color, Stories, Inspiration, to see what i am on about you can check it out over here. It was a big challenge for me to complete my page and the page changed alot. I actually started with a 12x12 piece of Kraft believe it or not and ended up with an A4 page which i rarely do. So sorry about the clarity of the photo unfortunately the weather is blah here and i cannot get a good photo plus the lighting in my house does not help. So i just want to share the Case File with you first...........

So using the colour scheme and at least two items from the evidence column and one from the testimony column you need to create your page. So here is what i came up with.........

I managed to use from the evidence column mushrooms which were also made from felt, insects/bugs which were the punched out butterfly shapes and the stamped lady beetles, as well as paint drops, and from the testimony column i did my journalling in a spiral. I ended up sticking it all on a piece of transparency. Anyway thanks for looking!

Challenge for Sassy Scrapper

Good afternoon fellow bloggers! I managed to finish a page today using the May sketch over at Sassy Scrapper which the talented Georgia Heald created this month. My page came together quite quickly which is always a bonus. I really wanted to scrap this photo of my eldest and my Nana. My Nana has been unwell for awhile now but she is a battler. It means the world to me that my children have gotten the chance to meet her. I love her with all my heart and being sick has not dampened her spirits one bit. It was hard to choose the papers at first because of the colours in their clothes but i found this range of papers from Kaiser in my stash and knew they would go really well. I tried to not use glimmermist or ink but could not resist in the end. So i am off to scrap some more and hopefully will have some more to share later.

This is the sketch i used thanks to Georgia!

"Enjoy the little Things!"

Hello again! It feels like forever since i was on here but it has only been a few days. I have been scrapping away at rather a snails pace lately and have pretty much ran out of time for most projects but it is all good as i have been very busy with life as well ! Had a little hassle with my car but thanks to my Par it is on the mend and i tell you it is so good having a qualified Mechanic fixing my car as it has been in need of some TLC for awhile, the poor thing has done so much travelling over the years. On a happy note though i have been catching up with alot of my old friends that i haven't seen in quite a long time and i think it is wonderful that we can just pick up where we left off. With everything going on i did manage to finish a project, it was for the May 123 Challenge which you can find here. I have had this piece of orange cardstock in my stash for a very long time and had this fantastic idea to doodle around the pattern on it, gee that was a silly idea! But now i am finally finished i love the result. I also managed to use up some scraps that have also been in my stash, there is still along way to go even with the kids having a dig at the stash as well! I am a little annoyed as i cannot for the life of me remember when it was taken but i know where so it does give a time frame to work with as i only lived in my old house for around a year. The photo is a selfie and although not the best i love it because it is of my girls and I. I enjoy being a stay at home mum it is the best job in the world in my eyes! So here is my page...

Thanks for dropping by and until next time keep scrapping!

White With 1 May Challenge

Good Afternoon i hope we are all enjoying our weekend? I am hoping to get a little bit of scrapping done this weekend! I wanted to share a page i did for the White With 1 challenge. This months challenge was to use White + Cream + Chipboard. I decided to scrap a photo of my eldest daughter. I love this photo so much and have already scrapped it once years ago. I love how she looks up at me so lovingly and with trust in her eyes. Who knew this little baby would grow and is now 8. My how time flies! Anyway so here is my page, I had a liitle trouble gathering cream supplies and only used a few chipboard hearts which i painted white and then coated with some Tim Holtz Crackle Paint. Overall i love my page!

Anyway thanks for dropping by and i hope you get lots of scrapping done! Until next time Blessed be!

Time flies!

Hello fellow Bloggers! I hope you have all been having fun creating! I have been working on a few bits and pieces but they are not coming together quite as quickly as i hoped and i fear i will run out of time before i finish, lol. With Jack Frost coming in my nights of late night scrapping are dwindling as i find i am diving into bed a little earlier just to keep the frostbite away, ok maybe that is a bit extreme but it has been quite cold here! I just wanted to pop on today and share a page i did as a Guest Designer over at Child's Play Challenges. If you haven't found your way over there yet then i recommend you check it out! I have such fun getting there challenges done! For my Guest Designer role i had to use Mr Potato Head for inspiration. Now we do not own a Mr Potato Head toy for one my children do not find it entertaining at all and i think they are silly as well!  So i went with the colour inspiration and also a line from the Toy Story movie that Mr Potato Head said.It matches so well with the photo of my daughter, who in actual reality was just a tad annoyed at me taking so many photos. But i was super excited as it was her first time flying. So here is my page and if you get a chance pop over and take a look at Child's Play Challenges.

Thanks for looking and hopefully i will be back with something to share soon! Until next time keep scrapping!

Let's Capture These Sketches Challenge

Hello all! Not alot going on here on the homefront lately, my beautiful girl is still quite unwell so i haven't really had alot of sit down and scrap time. I managed to start this the other day and added the finishing touches this morning. So it was a sketch based challenge and it probably has a little too much white space for me but i enjoyed the challenge and love how it turned out. I didn't really have a colour scheme in mind when i started just the photos and the piece of Graphic 45 piece of paper, who knew blue and purple could be so pretty? Anyway here is the sketch..

And this is what i came up with....

Thanks for looking and until next time keep scrapping!

Good morning fellow bloggers. Last night i stayed up quite late and decided to start and finish The Colour Rooms Special Edition Palette. It was quite fun and i decided to do some fussy cutting. I love how it all came together in the end i did try to use the sketch but just couldn't get it to work. I am not very good at following sketches but i do try! I love this range from Prima (anything Prima really lol!) Anyway i am off to scrap some more and maybe do a little housework! So here is my page...

Kaisercraft Saturday Sketch #1 for May

Good Afternoon fellow bloggers i hope you are having a wonderful day where ever you are and with what ever you are doing. Unfortunately today my eldest is a little ill and i am thinkin Tonsilitis. Only time will tell! I did however manage to finish my layout using the Saturday Sketch over at Kaisercraft. I actually had only just got the Fine and Sunny paper range on Sunday and just had to use it. It is such a happy, fun range  with so many possibilities but i decided to use the big puffy clouds mostly. Love clouds they are so cool. I flipped the sketch to accomodate my photo and then it kind of took off from there. All the strips of paper and journalling i actually made that into a banner and kept the journalling to a minimum with a quote. I have already scrapped the series of these photos telling the story so i just  wanted to create a page with the other photo which will be placed next to the other page. I do not scrap chronologically but my albums are all in chronological order and i have even gone to the extent of giving my children an album for each year. Eventually i realise this will need to be culled down but for now they are still young and i have the space for the many albums i have. Anyways this is the sketch i used...

And this is what i came up with...

I even glued some googly eyes onto my sun, lol, i think it looks heaps cuter now! Thanks for looking and until next time keep scrapping!

The Color Room Palette # 109

Good Afternoon fellow bloggers today i want to share the page i created with The Color Room palette #109. I have been working on this for a few days and when you see it you may wonder why! These are not colours i use on a regular basis and they really did stump me. It has also opened my eyes up to something i have been aware of for awhile but it is becoming more apparent as time goes on, especially the more challenges i do. When i first began scrapping 8 years ago it was for my daughter. Having a girl i pretty much only bought pink, pink, and more pink! Occasionally i may have bought some purple. Everything was girly. As time elapsed i had another daughter so of course my girly obsession got worse. Now i find it hard to rummage up certain colours for challenges. I have changed how i shop now days and because my girls are not always in pretty pink dresses and acting so lady like i do find myself buying something blue from time to time. This page i created had a mind of its own. I started to sand the edges actually (it is a piece of Core'dinations from the white wash collection) but it looked blah so then i had the thought to cut the centre out and sew it back together! That is how it sat for a day and my partner would come by and laugh and go "Is that all you have? You have been sitting there for hours!" i had the dress form sitting there on my desk because i was going to use it on my page that i did for OUAS but decided not to. I did not have alot of blue flowers so i used  Alcohol ink (stonewashed) to dye them as well as the chipboard and the pearl swirls. The photo i used was one of my eldest when she was four. It was taken by Katrina Elliott, a local photographer in Gladstone. I am still looking for a good one here in Mackay but none have caught my eye, some are into taking weird angle photos. I just want a normal photo of my family!  If you want to see where i got my inspiration from pop on over to The Color Room they provide a great palette and even a sketch to help if you like. So enough said time to share.

Thanks for dropping by and until next time keep scrapping!

Once Upon A...Sketch Challenge!

With Mothers Day just around the corner it is no surprise there would have to be a challenge about mothers. I would like to thank OUAS for making me do this page, why? It has made me think about how far my mother and my relationship has come. My mother and my relationship has not always been a happy ride. Don't get me wrong she was always there for me and i never ever went without anything a day in my life but my mother is only 16 years older than me. Imagine raising a child when you are a child yourself! Yet she did it! You would have thought it would have made her lenient but in fact it made her harder on me i guess and i was raised in a strict environment which i hated back then but now when i look back it probably kept me out of a lot of trouble!! We clashed alot, we fought alot but now she is truly my best friend and i can confide in her about anything. I am happy we have reached this point in our lives. So for my page i wanted it to show how much i love and admire my mum, especially because she isn't an average mum. I did this by writing my mother a poem. I love to write poetry and do not care if it is the worlds greatest masterpiece it is just a piece of me on paper. I had so much fun creating this page! I sewed, i punched, i ripped, distressed and painted my Glimmermist and i did keep to the sketch but modified it a little by creating the solid piece in the sketch by ripping a piece in half  and the clock circle under the photo i actually put a large Prima flower. I also didn't want to use bunting so i put a cluster of flowers in the top left hand corner. Anyway here is the sketch i used...

So this is what i came up with...

This is the woman i call Mum

Just a little close up...

What a wonderful surprise!

I was checking my emails today and found the new palette was up over at The Color Room and i thought i would have a look. I was amazed to see that my page for palette # 108 was featured. I would like to thank them immensly for the feature as i was not expecting it at all. I just enjoy scrapping and being given an opportunity to share my work with others and to see some fantastic work done by some fantastic ladies. Anyway i hope you enjoy the rest of your day! Until next time Blessed Be!

My two reasons to smile!

What an eventful morning! I should be resting but i am not that sort of person! I always have to be doing something i cannot sit still for too long! I stumbled across a challenge blog last night (Let's Capture These Sketches) and decided i must complete it, lol. So this morning i sat down to do it, in between loads of washing and keeping my daughter entertained. It has lots of white space and i really am not sure how i feel about it but it is of my daughters so i love it immensly for that. I Glimmermisted, stamped, cut, inked and distressed until i got it looking how i want it. It really came together quite quickly. So here is my page. I think i have 1 hour left to upload it, lol.

Here is the sketch i used - Sketch #130

Lets Get Sketchy challenge

Good Afternoon fellow bloggers. Feels like i have been away for so long and it has only been a few days. I have not touched a single scrappy thing over the past few days as i have been feeling quite unwell. As it is the start of a new month some new challenges have gone up so i decided to try and get one together. I decided to do the challenge for over at Lets Get Sketchy. The challenge this week is to use white plus one other colour. Having two little girls there is no surprise i chose PINK! I used a Prima mask and some Alcohol Inks then preceded to layer up some bits and pieces. So here is my page.

Thanks for looking and until next time keep scrapping!
