Time flies when you are having fun!

Hello everyone i hope you are all keeping well! It feels like forever since i was on here. I have been super busy with so much happening lately, mostly helping out at my daughters school. I have had a little time to scrap here and there but then i keep forgetting to post. Just a quick share starting off with my page i did using the Prima BAP for August. I had so much fun using some of my new Prima i got the other week. It all went so beautifully with the photo i took of my baby the other day. We had a small little photo shoot in the backyard at her request. She truly is a beautiful little thing.

Here is this months sketch. As you can see i flipped it and modified it a little.

I also managed to scrap the last two palettes over at The Color Room. I had alot of fun with both. I got a little artsy with Palette # 124 and had so much fun flicking paint and Glimmermist at my page( NB a job for outdoors)  and even stepped out of my comfort zone and embraced some white space for Palette # 125. I have used buttons on both pages as i recently purchased a kit from Sandra that came with a great big bag of buttons. I have even stitched them on my pages which is definately something i do not do often but i am trying out different things and ways to attach stuff to my pages but mostly trying to not be a lazy scrapper, lol

Okay so that is it from me for now i am off to pack. We are heading down south for a long weekend to pick up our newest member of the family. I will post some photos when we get back and we have decided on a name. TFL! Take care!

OUAS August Challenge

So this months challenge is definately a good one. I had loads of fun creating and honestly didn't know where i was going with it at all. I just picked a season, Summer, and started with a piece of cardstock. Summer always inspires me to think of bright, happy and fun times. I chose a heap of papers from my scraps and a heap of ribbons and sewed them all on. My next step was a little texture paste and my Prima 12x12 mask then some Glimmermist and some alcohol ink splashed around. Then it was onto what photo, so many photos to choose but i settled for the ones of my youngest enjoying her "slip and slide", the expression on her face says it all. Loads of layering and happy things that say Summer to me. I also creatd a pocket and my own tag to tuck away my journalling. My journalling reads "Summer, hands down, is definately Ambers' favourite season. To her Summer means slip and slides, playing under the sprinkler, going to the beach, air conditioning, icy poles and just simply having fun outside all day!"  So now my page.

My tag hidden in the pocket behind my photo..

Just another photo of my whole tag i added some ribbon and a little punched border at the bottom.

SO here is the challenge for over at OUAS.

Theme: Season (Summer, Autumn,Winter, Spring)

We would like you to create a layout and interpret the theme "Season" however you like based on the following sketch. You can journal as little or as much as you like, but your layout must incorporate this theme and the sketch below. Please make sure that we see some sort of journalling on your layouts and please tell us where your journalling is . Hidden journalling is perfectly fine.

Ideas for journalling: current season in your part of the world, favourite season, seasonal traditions on your part of the word, a childhood memory, a summer romance, what summer/autumn/winter/spring brings for you, baby it's cold outside, summer loving, spring is in the air, autumn breeze, summer holidays, seasonal changes, etc etc. Anything goes ..

So that is it for me. TFL!

A few shares!

Hi guys just sharing another couple of warped pages( from all the liquid mediums i have used, lol) which both completely had a mind of there own. I love doing a page and not really knowing how it is going to turn out. The first page was for Show Us Your Stuff. We were to use this picture as our inspiration.

So armed with a piece of white cardstock and a camera stamp i decided to create my own background. I stamped my background with a few of the cameras and using clear embossing powder i embossed them then covered my page with Tim Holtz Vintage Ink. Both my girls are wearing different colours so i wanted to add these so i splashed on some blue watered down paint and some Glimmermist then proceeded to spray the page completely in water. This made all the colours morph together to create a watercolour type effect. I love this photo of my girls taken whilst on the Ferris Wheel, the last ride for the evening as it was getting cold and we had already been at the show for 8 hours! So here is my page.

The other page i want to share is with the new case for CSI. I stayed up probably a little later than i should of but i just couldn't stop until it was finished. I used some new Prima on my page and had so much fun misting and inking it all up. Here is the case which only just went up.

To help crack the case i used liquid medium, something shiny, a white background, bricks and metal as well as triangles.

Tucked behind my photo i created a pocket with my journaling on it. It was inspired by the inspiration words and placed on journaling strips

Okay so that is it from me i am all shared out, lol. TFL! Until next time keep scrapping :)

Some shares!

Hi guys just popping by to share a few pages i created. The first one is using this weeks palette over at The Color Room. Wow this was a tricky palette for me this week. I mean i love the raspberry pink part but with pool blue and leafy green i was not sure at all. However once i started i just could not stop. I made all the flowers myself using my flower punch whilst sitting and watching Winners and Losers, i have used a few Prima chipboard stickers and i am classing the lace as ribbon. I have had some Cricut Colors in my stash for a long time and decided to use them, so i did a birdcage. Because it looked so flat i decided to add some lace to it as well. I was roughly inspired by the sketch too but altered it to one photo and used some embellies instead of other photos. I also added a bit of white throughout to try to stop the green being so stark. So here is this weeks palette and sketch.

Here is my page i am probably about 95% happy with how it turned out, just not sure about the green.

A few little close ups of my flowers coated with some Gesso and Kindyglitz

A close up of that birdcage, as well as my stamped leaves and more flowers.

The second page i created was for this weeks case file over at CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration. I had so much fun with this one. I managed to use some of my stash as well as a few new things and some shells from our trips to the beach. Here is this weeks case file.

The evidence i used was wet medium(texture paste and Glimmermist), something grainy(real sand), vellum, dots, round or soften edges. My testimony was documenting a trip to the beach as well as document a transformation which was my daughters change in attitude towards the beach. My journalling reads "You haven't always loved the beach. In fact the first time i took you, when you were 6 months old, you cried when you touched the sand and cried even more when i washed you in the sea. I am glad  you have come around to the beach and these days I can't stop your jump right in approach. On this day we went withyour best mate, Taylor, and the pair of you had so much fun together. You both would run at the sea as fast as you could but stop at the water's edge not quite game enough to go any further. Such happy fun times!" Here is my page.

 Just a little close up.

So that is it from me for now I am off to continue my motherly duties and it is almost that time of day to pick my daughter up from school. TFL!

Just for the fun of creating!!

Hi guys hope you are all finding time to scrap. I have been so flat out lately with the usual and spent all day yesterday baking and cooking for the weeks lunches. Lots of yummy muffins and cakes as well as a scrumptious quiche all cut and ready to just pop out of the freezer to go. I am also still getting over the drama from last weeks Grey's Anatomy and last nights Home and Away, lol. I am a major T.V. drama nut! However i have also made an effort to scrap something just for the sake of creating and i tell you i had so much fun and got a little clucky!!! I started this page the other night while watching Alice in Wonderland. I have always loved this book and am so happy Tim Burton did a remake, my two favs together. Honestly i do not know how many times i have read the Lewis Carroll book, my parents still have it in their bookshelf from when i was a girl. I pulled out my range of Kaisercraft papers and forced myself to use them, you see i am a long time fan and collector just not a user lol. I had no idea what i was going to do. I even used some of those embellies i said i cut with my Cricut, the vines and the little birdcage. Everyday i have added a little here and a little there and just now i added my journalling and i think it is complete. It is a page of my oldest darling daughter over 8 years ago, so sweet and innocent and beautiful. I miss this look so much, when you are their whole world and nothing else matters.

Okay so that is it from me i am off to have a play with all my new Prima i just picked up from the postie. I tell you i was like a pig in mud carrying it and pretty much ran inside as fast as i could to open it, lol. Have fun creating! TFL!

BITW - "REACH"

Hello everyone today i would like to share a page i did last night for over at Bird Is The Word. Remember how i said i was going to scrap alot, well i wouldn't say it was too successful however i have started a few of my CT pages for WW1 so i guess it was'nt all in vain. I stared at my desk alot yesterday and last night i watched most of The Tooth Fairy, some of Joe Black and was onto Sleepers before i had really had much progress. One page i did manage to finally finish was the one i am about to share. It started out completely different and morphed into what you see. I started with a piece of Kraft and added some texture paste as well as alot of black paint swirls but then i decided to add some tissue paper with Modge Podge and i just kept going until it was all over the page. So now my page has a beautiful glossy finish to it. I am still in use it up mode and i had some of the Heidi Swapp paint still in my stash and decided to swipe that over my Prima mask, added some of those pre-cut embellies i did with the cricut, stamped a little and layered it all up. Finally i added my quote which reads "If I could REACH up and hold a star for every time you've made me smile, the entire evening sky would be in the palm of my hand". So here is my page.

Okay so that is it until next time. TFL. I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend  :)

Case File # 31 for CSI

Hello bloggers i hope you have had a wonderful start to your weekend! This morning i  have been busy doing a few little things. I once again have pulled out my Cricut from retirement and armed with some scraps i have cut a few things out in prep for a few pages i hope to scrap this weekend. So just quickly before i go and scrap i just wanted to share with you a page i have finished using Case file # 31 over at CSI: Color,Stories,Inspiration. I just loved the palette this week, such a bright one. It took me a little bit to finish it though as i just couldn't stop adding. I even managed to use my Prima butterflies that i have been hoarding for sometime now but i figured with all the new ranges of Prima currently making its way to my house it was time to use some of my stash up. I scrapped a photo taken from a weekend trip to Cape Hillsborough last year. We had so much fun bushwalking, stalking the kangaroos, playing on the beach and just hanging out. So here is my page.

Here is the case i worked with. They really are alot of fun and can sometimes be a challenge.

Okay so i am off to scrap some more and will be back to share what i create, fingers crossed i get something done. TFL!

Just a few shares!!

Hi everyone hope we are all having loads of scrapping time? I have been attempting to scrap, note the word attempt! We have had a very busy week but a lot of fun as well. One of the highlights was the show, which was 8 hours of fun, so i hopefully will get around to scrapping those photos soon. I even have the perfect paper all ready to go, the new Echo Park Everyday Eclectic by Allison Kreft range. I can't wait to use it. I also was a fav over at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge, along with a few other talented ladies which you should pop over and check out, and i won the July Blog Sketch over at Scraptherapy. I have completed a few pages over the past week. The first two pages were done using palettes from over at The Color Room. I always have so much fun doing these because they get me out of my comfort zone. Palette #121 was to use Blueberry, Tangerine, Watermelon and a colour of my choice. I chose Black. I am really loving using alot of black to matt on my pages as i feel it makes the colours pop off the page. I used alot of Prima goodness on this page and a few of my scraps as well.

A little close up. I totally love my little birdie from the Prima Doodle-Deux range!!

Here is the palette i used.

Palette #121-His Room The Scrap Cake

The other page is using palette #122. Palette #122 was inspired by the talented Ingvild Bolme. I had so much fun with this. I doodled my title and pretty much around everything and then coloured in with watercolour pencils. All the stars were traced and cut out by hand and i added some texture by using some texture paste along with my Crafters Workshop template. I also even made myself use ribbon, i have so much ribbon but hardly use it so i am trying to make a conscious effort to use it.

Here is the palette i used.

Lastly i created a page which made it onto the Watch List over at CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration.  I had so much fun creating this page and reminiscing about my childhood. For my testimony i journaled about my childhood. I found a newspaper clipping of myself taken over 20 years ago and as soon as i saw it i was immediately taken back to that day. For my evidence i used distressing, bricks, melt/drip, metal, hinges, 4 types of pattern paper and brads. I had tried to limit my embellishments to the centre of the page but couldn't help adding them all over my page.

Here is the case file i worked with.

Well that is it from me for now, TFL, i am off to try and scrap a little more.

August WW1 Challenge!!!

Okay so it is a new month and a new challenge for over at WW1. It is a good one this month. To see what everyone created pop over here. The ladies have definitely done a great job. So the challenge this month is....

WHITE + MAPS + TRAVEL EMBELLISHMENTS

You have until 11.59pm on August 31st to link your entries!

I automatically went to the massive pile of holiday pics, really need to do something about it or get super organised and create scrapping journals every time i go on holiday. I chose to scrap about our road trips from Gladstone to Mackay. I am so glad i don't have to travel that stretch of the highway as much anymore because it is quite a ghastly stretch of the Bruce Highway. Okay so this is what i came up with......

I used paper and embellishments from Crate Paper and Kaisercraft. Check out my little Punch buggy, how cute is that??? I found my little pegs at a local little cheap shop as well and thought they were a great little addition to my banner! Hope to see your creations this month! TFL!

Punky Scraps is back!!

Hi guys just popping by to share with you a page i have created for over at Punky Scraps. These guys have been on a short little break and to celebrate their come back they are having a blog hop!!! They are also giving everyone an opportunity to win some prizes as well as..drumroll... a chance for someone to win a permanent spot on their design team.

Okay so down to business! Using the sketch that was provided at the end of the blog hop, (if you wanna see the sketch a  hopping you will have to go and see some awesome inspiration along the way), i created a page.... wanna see?

With a few little close ups.....

True to me i used paint, ink, alcohol inks, got into a little doodling and ultimately turned a plain piece of black cardstock into an awesome page if i do say so myself. I love scrapbooking and i love to experiment and try to evolve my style, which i do not think i have one specific style. I kinda just go with the photo and whatever else comes along. I really love mixing it up with alphabets and embellies and love playing with colour. I love to distress and crumple and add a little dimension to my pages. So that is it from me for now i will be back a little later with the new WW1 challenge for August!

Hello August!!!

Hello everyone August is finally here, wow! I am happy because it means Winter is drawing to a close and fingers cross it will start to warm up real soon, showers in the cold are not much fun at all. This morning i cast the housework aside because apparently i need to rest alot more because i do too much. So what other way could i think of to rest but scrapbook with my darling daughter beside me. I managed to have a play with one of the sketches over at Creative Scrappers. There were some really good ones this month but the circles were calling my name. I might actually turn this into a double because i still have a few photos of my eldest blowing her little heart out. I used a circle stencil and some texture paste to create the really big circles and then punched out a heap of circles from Prima paper. I love the simplicity of my page and how quickly it all came together. So here is the sketch i used which you can find here.

Here is the page i created using the above sketch.....

So that is it from me for now i am off to scrap a little more. TFL!
