Zeus and Zoe January Chllenge - "All About Me"

Hi lovelies hope we are all well!!! Today i wanted to share with you my page i finally finished with very little time to spare for the awesome challenge over at Zeus and Zoe. The challenge was to scrap about my word for 2013. So my word for 2013 is "ME" Why do you ask well, i now have both my girls at school this year and pretty much have time on my hands, alot of time. I have no more excuses so i am setting out to get "ME" back. This year i will return to work, resume my studies, scrap alot, teach some scrapping and what ever else comes my way. I want to achieve more out of my life. It is going to be hard and i am going to be tired but bring on 2013 :)

TFL!! Until next time keep scrapping :)

"My Darling Girl" - January challenge for ARTastic

What a week i am having and it is only just Wednesday! Finally we got the internet and phone back on after what seemed like an eternity, yay!! But i know that is selfish as others suffered far worse than having no internet or power here in Australia and my thoughts are with those going through those tough times.
Happy note!!!A major highlight was yesterday. Yesterday was a big step for me in more ways than one. My baby started Prep and my oldest is now in year 4. It went smoothly, no tears! In a way i am pleased because i really didn't want to become a blubbering mess either! My Preppy was so adorable, had fun and made lots of friends!!! A huge relief when i picked them up and they were both smiling and enthusiastic for the next day, win win! But i do get a little lonely by myself :( but i do have my dog :) On another note i also lined up a job and am also teaching again at my local scrapbook store, so all round my life is heading in the right direction. Okay enough ranting and raving, lol, onto some sharing now.

Whilst blog hopping i discovered a wonderful challenge blog and have been meaning to play along for awhile but always ran out of time. However for some reason this months challenge really stood out to me and i really wanted to have ago and experiment with a few things.

Pop over here to check out ARTastic, it is a great blog where inspiration is found in works of art.

This months inspiration comes to you from ... My Blue Angel by 3D chalk artist - Jenny McCracken.

Criteria – the use of chalk or the addition of wings on your entry

or be adventurous and use both :)

What amazing inspiration!! When i saw it and the criteria i knew what i was going to do straight away. I wanted to give my daughter wings. I have seen this time and time again and have never done it before ever. I was a little iffy when i first started to cut my daughter out but continued on hoping for the best. To create the wings i used my Kaisercraft butterfly mask and texture paste. Once dry i rubbed in some chalk and covered it in Kindy Glitz. I rubbed more chalk around the edge of the page and continued to add my bits and bobs. I found some old chains i bought a long time ago and decided to add them as well. I love the whimsical feel to my page and as for the cutting of the photo it is probably something i will do again. So here is my page....

A little close up of the wings and my daughter cut out...

Just a quick little pic of my little Preppy!!! Such a cutie!!!

TFL!! I am off to turn the aircons on. So hot here. Take care.

My Page for OUAS!

Hello all!! Hope you are keeping well. Only 5 more days to enter my GIVEAWAY!! For a chance to win some goodies and help celebrate my blog turning 2 go ------------> here

On other news it has been pouring down here at home. We can't do the usual stuff and the kids get cabin fever!!! So what else do we do when it rains???? We scrap, although the paper becomes a little temperamental and things take forever to dry! But the girls and i sat down to create and watch some movies none the less. I managed to finally finish my entry for OAUS.This months theme was   "The start of something new" and to use the following sketch.....

I followed the sketch very loosely but kept the journaling and title in roughly the same spots. I decided to create a page about my youngest starting Prep this year. It is a big step for her and for me. She goes on to making new friends and learning and i have no children from 8:30 to 2:50. What will i do????? I won't know myself.

Here are some of the pages my girls have been working on.

Aren't they just delightful. Anyway TFL! Until next time keep safe and keep scrapping :)

Paper Stories "Cherish"

Hi Lovelies!!! Hope you are having a lovely start to your week!!!So this month i decided to have a play with the sketch over at Paper Stories. I unfortunately did not get a chance to play with their first ever sketch but made some time to this month :)

My page was created after i was stopped by a lady in the shopping centre the other day. I was shopping along and my daughters were being their usual selves, flittering around and playing, when a lady said " I miss that!" She went on to tell me to appreciate them while they are little because they will turn into teenagers one day. I had too laugh. I hope i will always have a special bond with my girls even when they are teenagers. But it did get me thinking how much they are growing up : (

Here is my page, which i had lots of fun with layering, painting and misting. I also had an experiment with the Tim Holtz Distress Marker and a stencil, which is the numbers and i just added water!!!

And here is the sketch which inspired my page.

So yeah a blog a day so far :) TFL!!! I appreciate you taking the time to comment. Until next time Happy Scrapping!!!

Kaisercraft Saturday Sketch # 3

Hello lovelies! Last night i stayed up a little too late scrapping but once i started i didn't want to stop until i finished. I bought the Kaisercraft Botanical Odyssey range the other day and have been itching to use it so when i saw the sketch i new i wanted to use it. I am always a sucker for circles. Ha ha my daughter turned nine the other week but i decided to scrap some photos of her eighth birthday because i loved the cake and i am a terrible chronological scrapper. My daughters eighth birthday was a cool one though, i made three super chocolate cakes. I love my chocolate cake recipe it is the absolute best ever. But anything homemade is generally better than store bought, unless you can't cook/bake than you should quit and buy it, lol. Anyway here is my page, sorry for the photo it is a little overcast here today :)

Here is the sketch that inspired me...

So TFL!! Until next time keep scrapping!!

A Just Because Page!

Hi Lovelies!!! Just popping in today to share a page i created today with a small little tutorial on how i did the background :)

I then used some book pages, gesso, paint, chipboard, grungeboard, tea and some other bits and bobs, as well as added some doodling and created this page of my dear old Dad. I love how it turned out but it was hard to not add flowers or other colours.

So that is it from me i am off to scrap some more. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and TFL!!!

If you would like to enter my GIVEAWAY and have a chance to win some goodies please go
                                                               --------> here

Happy Saturday!!! I hope you are all finding time to scrap. I managed to clean my scrap room yet again yesterday, it really never ends and i vow i will clean as i go every time but once the creative juices start flowing i never stick to my word, and just had to have a play last night. I decided to play along again over at Skissedilla again. I found this sketch quite an easy one. I used lots of texture paste, paints and mists as well as some Green Tara flowers and some 2 Crafty chippy.

Here is the sketch that inspired my page.....

As you can see instead of a tree i used my Prima mask and texture paste.

Okay so TFL! I am off to finish a few more pages and maybe do some housework..wink wink! Until next time keep scrapping!!

Sketches With A Twist Layout!

Hello lovelies!! Okay so don't forget my blog turns a big 2 this month and to celebrate i am having a GIVEAWAY!!!
If you would like to enter my GIVEAWAY and have a chance to win some goodies
please go --------> here
Here is a picture of what i am giving away!!!!!

Anyway onto my post. It has been so super hot here in Queensland that i decided to turn on my air conditioner and finish a page i started for Sketches With A Twist,  i should be ironing but it is far too hot for that. This is the first time i have decided to play along with them. Here is the sketch....

And as the name suggests.. the twist is to use chevron.
Here is my page. a nice bright one to match the girls shirts. My sisters did their shirts themselves and i think they turned out magnificent!!! As you can see i prepped the background similar to the sketch and went from there misting and what not. For my chevrons i used the washi tape on the background, some pattern paper to matt my middle photo and if you look closely you can see the title has a chevron pattern.

Okay so that is it from me for sharing, i have a few more pages i need to finish which hopefully i will share tomorrow.
I plan to scrap alot over the next few weeks as Uni doesn't start up until February and i will have no children at home, so other than housework what will i do???? One major thing I plan on is kick starting my New Years scrapping resolution. Do you know what it is??? Actually it is two things: 1. I plan to finish all my unfinished layouts. I was thinking last night as i slept how awful it would be for my children to be left with a heap of unfinished pages, although i plan to be here awhile you never know. 2. Get back to journaling. When i started scrapping i would fill my pages with so much now i am flat out adding a date. I know bad right! Hopefully i will have a little more time to get myself together this year but who knows lets wait and see.
Until next time Blessed Be and TFL!!!

My First Page for 2013 and Skissedilla

Hi Fellow bloggers!!! If you would like to enter my birthday giveaway go -------> here!!!

I have been scrapbooking here and there over the past few weeks, mostly having a play and experimenting, you know when you don't really think things through - no holds barred. Anyway after alot of mess I finally got a few finished. So here is my first page finished for 2013. A page about me, something you don't see very often and i am wearing a hat, another not so often thing, lol. I used the Tropicana Collection from Kaiser, which was a treat from my partner. It was sweet that he came home from work with a great big pile of products to get my mojo started. Anyway here it is...

As you can see there is lots of layering, misting, stamping and texture paste. I also added splashes of Prima and Green Tara.

Something else i managed to finish was a page i did using the sketch from Skissedilla. This is the first time i have ever created a page with their sketches and i had so much fun with it. I vaguely followed the sketch, i hope you can see!

I created the background myself by doodling, i was inspired a little by Zentangle, then misted with Glimmermist. Then i layered, painted, doodled until i was happy with it. Here is a little close up of my cherub and the piece of card i recycled onto my layout.

Here is the sketch  i used.

Okay so that is it from me, enjoy your weekend and TFL!!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!!

Hello everyone i know i am a little late in wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year but i have only just now settled back into normal routines. I am also having alot of problems with blogger!!!

Christmas was so much fun. We had such a lovely time away with my brother and his future wife holding the Christmas party this year in Townsville, gosh i miss that place. Then my sisters and Dad spent New Years at my house, a nice quiet one this year. We have all been introduced to the game of Cluedo, lol and spent half the night playing that mixed with a few drinks and then it was all over for another year.

I can't believe 2012 is over, so much happened with funny things like the supposed "end of the world" and although it was a tough year 2012 had some good points; we got our new car, i am happier now then i have ever been and my health is getting better all the time!!!  Life over the past month has been kind and finally i am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. So into the new year. Already 2013 has seen my eldest turn 9, wow almost double digits!!! 2013 is set to be an amazing year with so so much going on, my baby starting school, as well as my brother and my friend getting married to name a few things. I am happy and yet sad that my baby is going to school yet it is something that has to happen.

I haven't scrapped since November but managed to have a play this week but i am still finding my mojo. I have done lots of experimenting, some good and some bad, lol.

Anyway with the New Year well under way i wanted to reflect on my Top 12 for 2012. I scrapped so much last year and it was quite hard to narrow it done.

No 1: SLURP, SLURP, SLURP - This one i did back in January for the Kraft it Up challenge and surprisingly it won!!! I just love the freshness of the green and of course those photos, lol.

No 2: A PERFECT MOMENT - This was a page i created for The Color Room in April. It managed to be featured on their photo wall which made my day. I love remembering this time when my daughter was a baby, nothing is more beautiful than a mother breastfeeding her child. I spent alot of time on this page colouring in those flowers and carefully layering and placing the embellies.

No 3: BE THE CHANGE..... - This page i did for both BITW and 123 Challenge back in June. I spent alot of time creating the flowers and doing the butterflies, not to mention getting that mist perfect, lol. It was also the first time i decided to sprinkle beads into paint, such a wonderful effect.

No 4: YOU ARE MY WORLD - This is just a page i created using Prima bits and pieces. I found the photo of my daughter in my files and had never scrapped it. She is just so gorgeous with her chubbiness and curly locks. I also used Aqua and Cream, a combination i never use.

No 5 : UNIQUE - This page was created using the sketch over at Scraptherapy in July. It was there first sketch challenge and i won with it. I love the simplicity of the page and the photos are a fav too. I love spiders webs they are so beautiful and made so well by something so yuck, lol.

No 6: This page i created with the August Prima BAP. It was fun and ended up being a very thick page by the end of it. I love the photo of my girl so much, she is the most beautiful thing i have ever seen!!!

No 7: This page i created for an August challenge at CSI. I love the colour scheme and the girly grunge feel to it. Plus my daughter is gorgeous as well. I had fun using all the new ranges from Prima this month.

No 8: IF I COULD REACH... - I did this page in August for BITW. It was featured! I really experimented here and it turned out so different than i had planned. Don't you just love selfies???

No 9: ADORE - This was a page i did whilst on the WW1 Creative Team. It was the turning point for me liking orange. I love the paint splatters and swirls.

No 10: THOSE LASHES - This photo amazes me! My daughter has amazing eyes and amazing lashes to set them off. I wanted to create a delicate page. I used Smooch paints to colour and outline my chippy.

No 11: CELEBRATE - I created this page for the Websters September Mix and Match challenge. I used quite a lot of ranges. Lots of layering here.

LASTLY No 12: This is a canvas i did for my Sister-in-Laws engagement. I spent alot of time on this cutting out the leaves on my Cricut and layering texture pastes and paints.

So that is it my Top 12 of 2012!! I hope you had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. When i get my mojo back i will be back to share the first page of the new year. Happy Scrapping!!!
